Jett loves rice cereal!!! He eats it twice a day now and seems to never get enough, BUT...I hate BUTS...He will only eat it if he can take a bite and have his thumb to assist in sliding the cereal down the hatch. In the beginning I tried pulling his thumb out so he would learn to eat without the assistant but we just ended up fighting about it every feeding time. I ended frustrated and he would stop eating because he was crying and/or upset. After alot of coaxing and other mothers advise I decided to stop fighting and just let him eat the only way he is knows how...by sucking. Now at feeding we both have fun and come out messy.

He usually only sucks on his thumb when he is hungry or tired but now he sucks it for a lack of something better to do. It is cute, but oh so naughty.

Does the mommy learning curve ever end!?!? Just when I think we have a schedule, rythme, or a routine he does something to mix it up a little. In the meantime I am learning alot about myself and how to be a better mommy

I know you hate this, but he looks like baby Brandon in these pictures. Super adorable, and I can't wait to see him! Well Dayna if there is one thing I have learned with Ezra it is that you just gotta roll with the punches. Look at the bright side, at least he can suck. We are trying to teach Ezra to use a sippy cup (no bottle after his next surgery) and he doesn't get sucking. He just chews on the spout to get stuff out. Oh well! I guess with enough tries he will get good at it.
How funny...he just wants to drive you crazy with his thumb. He looks so grown up sitting in that chair...and I have to say that he looks so much like a lundin.
lol, way funny! who is so cute though, that's cute that he sucks his thumb- he's a cute man!
isn't it amazing that you feel like you have a good idea who you are, and as soon as these little babies enter your life you realize there is so much more to you. i know i have only officially been a mom for a couple days, but it seems like it will be a never ending learning process and we'll always find ways to better ourselves. isn't life great as a mommy?
