Yesterday was Brandon's 1 year anniversary from when he tried to cut off his thumb with a skilsaw. The picture I posted is a little graphic so I apologize if you get grossed out easily I just wanted to show how bad it really was. He was at work when it happened while standing at the top of a ladder it is a miracle that he did not cut anything else off. When it happened we spent the weekend in the hospital after he went through a 4 hour surgery to reconstruct the tendon, blood vessels and the meat around it all. After the accident he could not work for 2 months because it could not get dirty and he was on some major pain killers ;)

This is the x-ray of his accident. You can see the big gap in the bone between the two joints. I guess if you can say he did a good job at least he missed both joints so the doc did not have fuse his joints together along with reconstructing everything else.
Now a year later he has about 85% mobility in it and he says it only hurts him when its cold and after a long day at work. All in all he has been blessed becuase he got to keep his thumb and he still has so much mobility in it.

I'm just curious what he would rather do...cut off his thumb or have his lung collapse? Seems the thumb is a better option if you want to get out of work! We're glad he still has the thumb to hold such an adorable baby!
I can't believe that was a year ago. Time flies...
Blah...way gross! But I'm glad he can still use it :D

So I didn't see them at the race, but it would have been funny if I had. It was a blast, and yeah Jessica came home for a month to get her gall bladder out. So we hung out with her for a day that weekend, and she just barely went back to MTC on monday. So she is off again.
Holy cow! That's so dang scary:(
