The "Official" Jett Landing on December 22, 08

After our false alarm on Sunday night went to Brandon's family Christmas party in hopes that my pain would progress so they would keep us at the hospital if we wnet back in. Around 9:30 we went back I was FINALLY dilated to a 3 so they decided to keep us. I am pretty sure that was one of the longest nights of my life. I hardly slept. They gave me my epidural at 1AM so I could "try" to get some sleep. Then at 3AM they started the patocin to push things along and at 5:30AM my water broke, I was only 7cm dilated, but my water breaking finally got things moving. I was dilated to a 9 by 9AM. I was getting really excited to finally see my baby boy. My doc came in and said, "It will still be a couple of hours so try to get some sleep..." I thought still a couple more hours. So I tried to get some sleep and was actually successful. Then at 11AM the nurses came in and I started pushing. My doc came back around 11:30AM to finish the FUN pushing process. We was finally born at 12:53PM. Yes I pushed for 2 hours!?! I would not recommend it but it was worth every second;)

I did not get to hold him immediately after because he had pooped inside of me and the doc was afraid that he might breathe some of it in so the NICU respitory therapy people were there to clean out his mouth and insure no poop was inhaled. Just like I prayed for there were no complications with his lungs and after a very long 10 minutes I got to hold him. What I loved the best it that he was screaming when he was not by me and when they handed him to me he stopped crying immediately. Which cued my tears immediately and even got a tear out of his daddy.

Brandon was the best "coach" I could have ever wanted and the best "doula" I could have ever paid for. He was very supportive and did not even flinch when I screamed at him to turn his phone off after it went off for the 8th time while I was pushing ;)
He weighed in at a whoppin 9lbs. 1.2oz. and was 20 3/4" long. No wonder I gained 32 lbs;)
We are still trying to figure out the whle eating thing, but I am sure we will get all the kinks worked out soon. He actally slept from 2:30AM to 5:30AM this morning. It was a much needed couple hours of sleep, but to make things even better Brandon is starting to get a cold. So now I have two babies to take care of. We will update again soon. Thanks all for your loving words, calls, texts, and prayers. And are taking visitors at anytime so come see us.
